Sales Representative (Consulting Service)

Job Description

Route sales for a specialized trading company. *Established over 70 years ago. Those with no experience welcome. Comprehensive training system available.

Established over 70 years ago. As a trading company specializing in machine tools, we have continuously worked with a diverse range of customers, from major manufacturers to privately owned factories. You will visit customers, primarily manufacturing plants.

【Products to be Handled】

Electric tools, machine tools, peripheral equipment, and industrial equipment. These products are essential for plants that manufacture parts for automobiles and other vehicles. In fact, there are tens of thousands of products, but you do not need to learn all of them. Manufacturer representatives will explain the details of products to the customer, so you only need to have a general understanding of the product categories.

【Work Flow】

▼Visits

Visit customers with whom we already have a business relationship. You will be responsible for about 15 companies, with visits to major customers occurring daily. The area covered is within a 30-minute drive.

▼Hearings

Listen to the customer’s issues while engaging in casual conversation. The key is to get homework from them. Assignments, whether related to the customer’s hobbies or work, are all acceptable. If you say, “I will look into it before I come back next time,” it will make it easier to arrange the next visit.

▼Proposals

For example, if a customer requests the purchase of a machine tool, you will contact the manufacturer. At a later date, you’ll visit the customer together with a representative of the manufacturer. Once an order is placed, the administrative staff will take care of the remaining arrangements.

《Strong support system in place》

★First, you will accompany a senior staff member.

This period will last a full three months. Let’s get accustomed to the workflow and business negotiations. Any questions or concerns should be noted in the daily report. Your seniors and supervisors will provide responses to your inquiries.

★Manufacturer-led study sessions are also conducted.

Manufacturer-led study sessions are also held approximately every three months. Let’s grasp the features of new products, etc. This provides you with a good opportunity to visit a customer’s site and inform them that a new product has been released.

Qualifications

【No prior experience in the occupation or industry required—recent graduates welcome!】

All applicants: Standard motor vehicle license (AT is acceptable)
Foreign nationals: Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1 *Must be obtained before joining us.

*No specific educational background, number of job changes, time away from work, or prior employment status will be considered.


No sales experience or specialized knowledge is required. Most of our mid-career employees had no prior experience in the industry. Our senior staff will provide support after you join the company, so please feel free to apply even if you have no prior experience! While not essential, experience in customer service and sales can be utilized effectively.

ASAHI SHO-KO-SHA boasts a history of over 70 years since establishment. As a trading company specializing in machine tools, we have continuously worked with a diverse range of customers, from major manufacturers to privately owned factories. We are not yet satisfied with our current situation and have decided to increase our workforce to further expand our business. We need to increase our staff due to a rise in orders from major automotive industry customers, including inquiries for capital investments.

Full-time employee

*The probationary period is three months. There will be no change in salary or compensation during this period.

Comprehensive Course: Relocation may occur.

Starting in FY2023, we established a new Regional Comprehensive Course that does not require relocation, allowing employees to balance their work with marriage, childcare, nursing care, and other life responsibilities.

Work Hours

8:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Actual working hours: 7 hours and 45 minutes)

*There is almost no overtime until you become accustomed to your role. About 10 hours per month. During the probationary period, take your time to gradually learn your job while serving as an assistant. However, during the peak seasons in March and September, overtime work may be 30-40 hours per month.

Salary

Monthly Salary: ¥212,000 to ¥318,000

*This will be determined based on factors such as age, ability, and other considerations.

☆If the performance of a sales office is strong, the bonus amount for sales members at that office will be higher.

Bonus

Twice a year (July and December) + year-end bonus (March) based on performance and evaluation

Holidays and Leave

120 days off (FY2024)

+ 4 special days off (birthday or wedding anniversary)

2 days off per week (Saturdays and Sundays; note that attendance is required on approximately 3 Saturdays per year for inventory taking, etc.)
National holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, summer vacation, paid leave (12 days granted upon joining), congratulation or condolence leave, special leave (including birthday leave, wedding anniversary leave, and compassionate leave), 5 days of retirement leave, 3 days of long-service leave, etc.

【Daily Flow (Example)】

▼8:45 / Arrive at the office and complete paperwork.

▼10:00 – 16:30 / Sales activities.

▼17:00 / Return to the office.

▼18:30 / Preparation for the next day and engage in customer services.

└Leave the office when finished. Except during the busy seasons (March and September), overtime is rarely required, typically about 1 hour per day until you get used to the job.

★In addition to in-house training, we offer an extensive training system that includes external training, correspondence courses, and support for acquiring qualifications.
